Park's family moved to The Philippines in 1995 to start a trading business. He attended school in Philippine Pasay Chung Hua Academy. His older sister, Sandara Park, is also in the entertainment industry as a member of a Korean girl group, 2NE1 in YG Entertainment.

In December 2014 he announced his departure from the group MBLAQ along with Lee Joon.
